One, Just As We Are
John 17:22 (NKJV) And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:
Unity among believers is not just a nice idea; it is essential for the very fabric of our faith and witness in the world. In Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer, we see a powerful call for unity—one that reflects the deep, intrinsic oneness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This divine unity is more than a fleeting concept; it is a spiritual reality that we are called to embody as followers of Christ.
When we talk about the glory that Jesus shares with us, we must understand that it is not about gaining power or recognition in the eyes of the world. Instead, it is the divine presence, love, and purpose of God being manifested through our lives. Think about it: when we are united in purpose and spirit, we reflect the very essence of God’s character. Such unity is a beacon of hope in a divided world, demonstrating the truth and love of God to those around us.
Furthermore, this is more than merely an organizational unity; it is rooted in love and shared mission. Just as the Trinity exemplifies perfect harmony, so too must we strive for a deep connection with one another, uplifting and supporting each other in our walk of faith. When we come together in this way, we amplify our witness to the world, shining a light that points to God’s transformative love.
Imagine the impact we could have if every believer chose to prioritize unity. We would not only grow closer to one another but also attract those who are searching for something genuine in a fractured society. It is time to embrace the call to unity and be the living expression of Jesus’ prayer. Let us reflect His glory and share the love He desires for all people, as we stand united in faith and purpose. Together, we can change lives, communities, and the world.
Here is your Prayer for today:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the glory You have given us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to live in unity, reflecting Your love and oneness in our relationships and communities. May Your divine presence guide us to be a light in the world, showing others the truth of Your Word. Strengthen us to walk in Your glory and fulfill the mission You have entrusted to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Going further, why not pray:
