Confess Your Sins
1 John 1:9 (AMP)
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just, [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness, [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
The blood of Jesus is so potent that
you only need to open your mouth and
by it
ask for forgiveness of any wrongdoing.
Over 2,000 years ago people lived in a time where those who believed in the Great God of heaven; primarily the Israelites, had to make regular sacrifices to cleanse them of their wrongdoing. They would sacrifice animals like a bull, goat, turtle doves (one without blemish) or fine flour to atone for every sin they might have committed until that time of sacrifice. Failure to do so meant the person was unclean, guilty and separated from God.
However, after Jesus was born, lived on the earth, was killed and resurrected from death, he made this business of gaining atonement from God very simple and easy.
Now, we do not need to make animal and grain sacrifices but we only need to admit our wrongdoing and open our mouth and confess. That ain’t too hard to do. Is it?
The blood of Jesus is so powerful that it is capable of freeing you from sin and that is what God wants you to keep in your memory. You don’t have to carry that guilty feeling around but you just need to open your mouth.
So what are waiting for? Why not do what our scripture for today is saying? The promise; and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness; is for you and your entire generation.
Here’s your prayer for today.
Our Father in Heaven,
We bless your name for another day. We wouldn’t be here if not for your mercies. We also remember how because of the abundance of your love for us, you sent your son, Jesus Christ to bring us an easy way of having our sins forgiven. We appreciate this precious love. Today, if there is any wrong committed, whether intentionally or unintentionally, we confess it all. We believe in your promise to forgive and cleanse us from all wrong doing. Thank you, Amen
