Working in my Favour
Psalm 16:6 (KJV)
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
It feels good
when things go well
in your favour.
Imagine having worked in a company for about a year and you have not thought of promotion or being recognised for your dedication but you get promoted anyway.
Or let’s say you are up for promotion and you have to pass a test before you get there. Suddenly, you are called and asked to move into your personal space, given a higher and better role accompanied by allowances and other benefits – way beyond your imagination. Everything is working just right.
This must have been similar to what the psalmist felt when he wrote this verse.
But then probably, the lines falling into pleasant places were not material or extrinsic gains but a deep sense of satisfaction with God’s blessings, and contentment with his existing circumstances.
Whichever way it is (and I’m sure there may be more meanings to this), it feels good when things go well in your favour. You just don’t want the feeling to end.
There are so many benefits found in the Lord, yea, we have a goodly heritage.
The lines will fall in pleasant places for you too and may you not forget your good inheritance in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Here’s your prayer for today
Father in the name of Jesus,
I am appreciative of your beautiful plans for my life. You know everything concerning me right now, in the past, in the future, all my dreams and desires. Today, I desire for the lines to fall in pleasant places for me; in my work, home, business, relationships and everywhere. I declare that I will be favoured in Jesus’ name. I take possession of every inheritance that belongs to me and I’m content with it. I pray that I will not lose anything that belongs to me. Thank you for your Word which never fails, in Jesus’ name, Amen
